Overview
Poclink offers two different system environments for different types of users:
-
Consumer System — designed for individuals and smaller teams that prefer to manage their radios through the Poclink mobile app.
-
Enterprise System — designed for organizations that need centralized web-based radio management, dispatching, GPS monitoring, and administrative control.
The Poclink Enterprise System includes two web-based platforms:
-
Enterprise Management Platform
-
Dispatcher Platform
The Consumer and Enterprise systems operate on separate server environments. Because of this, radios configured for the Consumer system and radios configured for the Enterprise system cannot communicate with each other.
This guide explains how to access the Enterprise system, how the two platforms work, available licenses and features, and whether Enterprise is the right solution for your organization.
1. Do I Already Have Enterprise-Compatible Radios?
The first thing to determine is where and how your Poclink radios were purchased.
Radios Purchased from Poclink.com, Amazon, or Standard Retail Channels
Unless your order was specifically placed as an Enterprise order, Poclink radios purchased through: Poclink.com, Amazon or other standard consumer or retail channels, are normally shipped with Consumer Firmware.
Consumer Firmware connects the radio to the Poclink Consumer Server and allows the radio to work with the Poclink mobile app.
A radio running Consumer Firmware cannot directly access the Enterprise Management Platform or Dispatcher Platform.
Already own Poclink radios and want Enterprise access?
Your radios must first be converted from Consumer Firmware to Enterprise Firmware.
This normally requires the devices to be sent back to Poclink so our technical team can:
-
Reflash the radio with Enterprise Firmware.
-
Register the device on the Enterprise Server.
-
Configure it for your Enterprise account.
-
Return the converted radio to you.
Please contact Poclink Enterprise Support before sending any devices so that we can confirm service requirements, pricing, and shipping instructions.
2. Important: Consumer and Enterprise Systems Are Separate
The Consumer and Enterprise systems operate on different server environments.
Once a radio is converted to Enterprise Firmware:
-
It can communicate with other radios registered in the Enterprise environment.
-
It can be managed through the Enterprise Management Platform.
-
It can use Enterprise features according to the licenses assigned to the device.
However:
-
It cannot communicate with radios that remain on Consumer Firmware.
-
It will no longer have access to the Poclink Consumer App.
-
Features available through the Consumer App do not automatically transfer to the Enterprise environment.
-
Some features that are included through the Consumer App require separate licenses in Enterprise Platform.
For this reason, we recommend reviewing your entire fleet before converting existing radios to Enterprise.
3. Consumer System vs. Enterprise System
The two environments are designed for different operational needs.
Consumer System
The Consumer system is generally the simplest and most cost-effective option for individuals and smaller teams that do not require centralized web administration.
Using the Poclink mobile app, users can access features such as group communication, GPS, SOS, duplex calling and basic user and group management
Many of these features are available without separate Enterprise feature licenses.
For teams with approximately 30–50 radios or fewer, the Consumer system may be more convenient and economical if centralized dispatching and administration are not required.
Enterprise System
The Enterprise system is designed for organizations that need more centralized control over their communication network.
Common Enterprise customers include:
-
Security companies
-
Construction companies
-
Manufacturing facilities
-
Warehouses
-
Transportation and logistics operations
-
Event teams
-
Schools and campuses
-
Public-sector organizations
-
Multi-site businesses
Enterprise becomes especially valuable when an organization needs to centrally manage dozens or hundreds of radios.
For fleets of approximately 100 radios or more, centralized management can significantly reduce the complexity of managing users, communication groups, permissions, devices, and dispatch operations.
The number of radios is only a guideline. A smaller organization may still benefit from Enterprise if it needs a dedicated dispatcher, centralized GPS monitoring, or strict administrative control.
4. Enterprise Management Platform
The Enterprise Management Platform is the administrative side of the Poclink Enterprise system.
It allows an administrator to centrally manage an organization's radios, users, groups, and system configuration.
Typical functions include:
User Management
Administrators can create, edit, and manage users within the organization.
Group Management
Administrators can create communication groups and assign different users or radios to them.
For example: Management/ Security/ Maintenance/ Warehouse/ Site A/ Site B/ Event Operations
Device Management
Administrators can manage Enterprise radios from one centralized interface instead of configuring each device individually.
Priority and Permission Management
Different users and communication groups can be configured according to the organization's operational structure and communication priorities.
Centralized Fleet Administration
This becomes particularly useful for organizations managing large numbers of radios across multiple teams or locations.

5. Dispatcher Platform
The Dispatcher Platform is designed for real-time operations.
While the Management Platform is primarily used to configure the system, the Dispatcher Platform is intended for dispatchers, supervisors, operations managers, or control-room personnel who need to communicate with field teams.
The Dispatcher Platform includes a map-based interface and allows authorized users to communicate with multiple radio groups directly from the web.
Depending on the licenses enabled for individual radios, the Dispatcher Platform can also support functions such as:
-
Live GPS monitoring
-
Location history
-
SOS monitoring
-
Voice recording and replay
-
Geofencing
-
Duplex communication

6. Enterprise Licensing and Pricing
Enterprise functionality is licensed separately from the radio hardware unless it is specifically included in your Enterprise quotation.
License Pricing
| License | Price | Validity | Features Included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Enterprise License | $15 / unit | Lifetime | Access to the Management Platform and Dispatcher Platform, user and group administration, and the ability to communicate with multiple groups through the web interface. |
| Dispatcher License | $20 / virtual IMEI | Lifetime | Creates a virtual radio identity for a dispatcher, allowing the dispatcher to communicate through the web without requiring a physical Poclink radio. |
| Recording License | $15 / unit / year | 1 Year | Voice recording and replay, including playback of missed PTT messages. |
| GPS License | $15 / unit / year | 1 Year | Live GPS tracking and location history. |

7. Understanding the Enterprise and Dispatcher Licenses
A common source of confusion is the difference between an Enterprise License and a Dispatcher License.
Basic Enterprise License — $15 per radio, lifetime
Every physical Poclink radio that participates in the Enterprise environment requires an Enterprise License.
This license enables the device to be managed through the Enterprise platform and provides the organization's administrators with access to the web-based Management and Dispatcher systems.
It includes:
-
Enterprise Management Platform access
-
Dispatcher Platform access
-
User administration
-
Group administration
-
Web-based communication with multiple groups
The Enterprise License does not automatically include premium features such as GPS, Recording, SOS, Geofencing, or Duplex.
Those features require their respective licenses or a VIP License.
Dispatcher License — $20 per virtual IMEI, lifetime
A Dispatcher License is different.
It is intended for a person who needs to communicate through the Dispatcher Platform but does not need a physical radio.
The Dispatcher License creates a virtual IMEI, which functions as the dispatcher's identity within the Poclink communication network.
8. Optional Enterprise Feature Licenses
The Enterprise License provides access to the Enterprise platform, but additional functionality can be enabled on a per-device basis.
Recording — $15 per unit/year
Allows voice communications to be recorded and replayed.
This is particularly useful when users miss a PTT transmission, need to review previous communications or require communication records for operational purposes.
GPS — $15 per unit/year
Enables:
-
Live GPS location
-
Map-based monitoring
-
Location history
This allows dispatchers to see where licensed radios are located through the Dispatcher Platform.
SOS — $15 per unit/year
Enables Enterprise SOS functionality.
When the user activates SOS, the alert can be sent to the appropriate team and Dispatcher Platform for centralized response.
Bounding / Geofencing — $15 per unit/year
Allows administrators to define geographic zones or SafeZones.
The platform can generate alerts when a licensed radio:
-
Enters a defined area
-
Leaves a defined area
This can be useful for security, logistics, construction sites, campuses, and other location-sensitive operations.
Duplex — $15 per unit/year
Enables full-duplex two-way communication.
This allows communication more similar to a phone conversation rather than traditional push-to-talk operation.
9. VIP License
Organizations that require most or all of the Enterprise features may choose the VIP License instead of purchasing individual annual feature licenses.
VIP License
Price: $149 per unit
Validity: Lifetime
The VIP License includes Recording, GPS, SOS, Geofencing, Duplex
This can be a more cost-effective option for organizations planning to use multiple premium Enterprise features over an extended period.
Example
Purchasing all five feature licenses separately would cost:
$15 × 5 = $75 per radio per year
A VIP License costs:
$149 per radio for lifetime access
Therefore, organizations planning to use all or most premium features for multiple years may find the VIP License more economical.
10. Why Does Enterprise Require Additional Licensing?
The Enterprise system is not simply a web version of the Poclink Consumer App.
Enterprise deployments require additional infrastructure and operational resources, including:
-
Dedicated Enterprise server resources
-
Enterprise account configuration
-
Device provisioning
-
Fleet management infrastructure
-
Technical support
-
System maintenance
-
Service monitoring
-
Enterprise administration tools
-
Support for larger and more complex deployments
These licenses allow Poclink to maintain a stable and scalable platform for organizations that rely on Poclink for operational communication.
11. Which System Should I Choose?
As a general guideline:
| Use Case | Consumer System | Enterprise System |
|---|---|---|
| Individual users | Recommended | Usually unnecessary |
| Small teams | Recommended | Optional |
| 5–20 radios | Usually recommended | Useful if centralized control is required |
| 20–50 radios | Often suitable | Depends on operational requirements |
| 50–100 radios | Depends on complexity | Often beneficial |
| 100+ radios | Can become difficult to manage | Recommended |
| Poclink mobile app | Yes | No |
| Centralized web management | No | Yes |
| Dedicated web dispatcher | No | Yes |
| Centralized GPS monitoring | Limited/app-based | Yes, with GPS License |
| Geofencing | Consumer functions vary | Yes, with Bounding License |
| Large multi-site fleet | Limited | Recommended |
These numbers are guidelines rather than strict requirements.
The best solution depends on how your organization operates.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. I already have five Poclink radios. How do I access the Web Platform?
First, determine whether your radios are running Consumer or Enterprise Firmware.
If the radios were purchased normally through Poclink.com, Amazon, or another retail channel, they most likely have Consumer Firmware.
Consumer radios cannot directly access the Enterprise Web Platform.
To use Enterprise, the process is:

Once the radios arrive, our technical team will convert them from Consumer Firmware to Enterprise Firmware.
-
Poclink creates your Enterprise account.
We will set up your Enterprise organization and create the required administrator account.
-
Your devices are bound to your Enterprise account.
The converted radios will be registered and associated with your Enterprise organization before they are returned to you.
-
You receive your login credentials.
Poclink will send your Enterprise Management Platform login information.
-
Log in once your radios are returned.
After receiving your converted radios, log in to the Enterprise Management Platform. Your registered devices should already appear under your Enterprise account.
From there, you can begin creating users, setting up groups, configuring priorities, and using the Dispatcher Platform.
2. How do I access the Dispatcher Platform?
The Dispatcher Platform is part of the Enterprise system.
Once your Enterprise account has been created, authorized users can be given access to the Dispatcher Platform.
If a dispatcher needs to communicate through the web without using a physical radio, a Dispatcher License can be purchased to create a virtual IMEI for that user.
3. Do I need a Dispatcher License to use the Dispatcher Platform?
No.
Dispatcher Platform access is already included with the basic Enterprise License.
To use it, designate a user as the dispatcher and assign an Enterprise radio IMEI to that dispatcher account.
The dispatcher can then use the web interface to communicate with different groups.
4. Can Consumer and Enterprise radios communicate with each other?
No.
They operate on separate servers. A radio registered on the Consumer Server cannot communicate with a radio registered on the Enterprise Server.
If multiple radios need to communicate together, they should all be configured within the same environment.
5. Can I continue using the Poclink mobile app after converting to Enterprise?
No.
Once a radio is converted to Enterprise Firmware and registered on the Enterprise Server, it can no longer use the Poclink Consumer App.
Enterprise management is instead handled through the web-based platforms.
6. Why is GPS free in the Consumer App but licensed in Enterprise?
The two systems use different infrastructure and are designed for different purposes.
The Consumer App is intended primarily for smaller groups and individual mobile users.
Enterprise GPS is designed for centralized fleet monitoring, allowing organizations to manage and track multiple radios from a web-based dispatcher environment.
The Enterprise environment requires additional server infrastructure, management tools, and operational resources. For this reason, Enterprise GPS and certain other advanced functions are separately licensed.
7. What happens if I purchase only the Basic Enterprise License?
The basic Enterprise License gives you access to both the Enterprise Management Platform and the Dispatcher Platform.
In the Management Platform, you can:
-
Create and edit users
-
Create and edit groups
-
Assign users to groups
-
Manage devices
-
Configure user priorities
-
Centrally manage your Enterprise radio fleet
In the Dispatcher Platform, your dispatcher can:
-
Communicate with different groups
-
Switch between groups
-
Talk to field users through the web interface
-
Coordinate multiple teams from one centralized platform
Advanced features such as GPS, SOS, Recording, Geofencing, Duplex require their respective additional licenses or a VIP License.
8. Do I need to purchase every feature for every radio?
No.
You can start with only the basic Enterprise License. This gives you access to the core Enterprise Management Platform and Dispatcher Platform.
If you later decide that your organization also needs advanced features, you can contact support@poclink.com at any time to add the required licenses.
There is no need to purchase every advanced feature when you first activate Enterprise.
9. Should I purchase individual feature licenses or the VIP License?
It depends on how many features you need and how long you plan to use them.
Each individual feature costs $15 per radio per year.
If you need all five premium features:
$15 × 5 = $75 per radio per year
The VIP License provides all five features for:
$149 per radio, lifetime
For long-term deployments using multiple premium features, the VIP License may therefore be more economical.
10. Can I switch back from Enterprise to Consumer later?
Yes, the radio would need to be reflashed again.
Because Consumer and Enterprise radios operate using different firmware and server environments, switching systems is not simply an account setting.
Please contact Poclink Support before requesting a migration.
Reflashing, service, and shipping fees may apply.
11. I only have five or ten radios. Do I need Enterprise?
In many cases, no.
For a small team, the Poclink Consumer App may be simpler and more economical because several functions are already available through the app.
12. We have more than 100 radios. Should we use Enterprise?
Enterprise is generally recommended for larger fleets.
As the number of radios increases, managing individual users, devices, and groups through a consumer-style system becomes increasingly difficult.
The Enterprise Management Platform provides centralized administration, while the Dispatcher Platform gives operational personnel a centralized communication and monitoring interface.
13. Can Poclink configure our Enterprise radios before shipment?
Yes.
For Enterprise orders, Poclink can discuss pre-configuration before shipment.
Depending on the deployment, this may include:
-
Enterprise Firmware installation
-
Enterprise account registration
-
User creation
-
Group configuration
-
Device assignment
-
Initial organizational structure
For larger deployments, we recommend discussing the desired structure with our Enterprise team before the order is shipped.
